LINUX + Intel 2200BG WiFi Detection & Connecting DELL Inspiron 9200 LAPTOP

I have tried most distros of linux including live. Most fail to detect the
card or load the firmware onto the card. doing DMESG|GREP ipw2200 and
DMESG|GREP ieee80211 shows the failure messges with error code -2 or no card
detected at all. I have tried kernel 2.6.18 tried doing insmod ndiswrapper
but that failed.

Whats wrong my laptop distro, or init startup scripts???
