Default Is it wrong to connect a server wirelessly to my network

I have a problem, My Dell PowerEdge server PSU is too loud so I have though
about moving it to another room and Connecting My router to my Desktop PC's
NIC or hub and sticking the WIFI Card in the server. Will this be ok or
will the File sharing (all media files on server) become much slower now ?

The OP seems to be talking about replacing the wired connection on the
server with wireless , and doing the reverse for the desktop PC which is
currently connected wirelessly.

In that case it will make no difference to the transfer speeds as you are
still restricted by the slowest link , and it doesn't matter if that's at PC
or Server end.

If I've misread and its just replacing wired & wired with wired & wireless ,
then it will indeed be a lot slower

Original Setup - Server and Main Desktop PC Connected to Router wired
through Hub, All laptops Wireless

Current setup : Server connetcted direct to router - sends signal to
laptops + Main Desktop PC

Contemplating - Main Desktop PC connected to Router sending signal to Server
and Laptops.

I think I undertsand what your saying Alex though, current and contemplating
wont make no difference but Original was quickest for sharing.
