Default Network password

I had to reload my windows ME and after i did now i get a
network window where i have to put a password in to start
windows, i was told just hit cancel and it won't come up
any more and when i hit cancel windows starts. But every
time i reboot my PC that network windows still comes up so
i just cancel every time. How do i get rid of that network
window so when i reboot it just starts windows, like it
use to do? Please help

Paul

See MS KB 152104 - "How to Prevent a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows
Me Logon Prompt at Startup" (http://support.microsoft.com?kbid=152104).

Basically you need to change to using Windows Logon in Control Panel |
Network. Then when you next log on don't enter a password (leave blank) and
click OK.

Don't click Cancel or Escape as this will mean that you don't log on and are
instead what is called the Default user which means you won't be able to save
passwords and have access to certain features.

Default Network password

I have the same problem. Microsoft used to have the fix
in their resource center but it isn't there now and I
don't remember the fix. Would also appreciate help on
this.

See MS KB 152104 - "How to Prevent a Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows

Basically you need to change to using Windows Logon in Control Panel |
Network. Then when you next log on don't enter a password (leave blank) and
click OK. If you've already allocated a password logon and then delete or
better rename the password file in the Windows folder - this is a file whose
name is your logon name with a pwl extension.

Don't click Cancel or Escape as this will mean that you don't log on and are
instead what is called the Default user which means you won't be able to save
passwords and have access to certain features.

well, no, that's way too much work, and I'm pretty sure I don't want my
e-mail address in the contact list of somebody who can't click on the
little "+" sign and read the responses to the original poster.
