Default Purchase Network MSN 500 wireless card for notebook

Where and how can I purchase Microsoft Broadband Networking MN500 wireless
card for my noteboo? Are there local facilities in Woodbridge, VA or
Stafford, VA area? Are will I have to order it directly from you?

Microsoft stopped making their MN-500 and MN-700 series Broadband Networking
devices more than two years ago. I would look to a different brand.

Too bad. They are GREAT devices. I had to buy a Linksys and Belkin cards
recently and they don't use Windows Network Management by default, instead
they use their own funky proprietary software which I hate. I end up having
to disable them so that I can use Windows tools instead.

Another problem that I found with my Linksys router is that the network
connections sometimes stop. That never occured with the MN500.

Exactly. You can, as you've discovered, select (Control
Panel/Administrative Tools/Services) Wireless Zero Configuration to
administer your wireless. I had a Linksys a couple years ago, and it kept
dropping the Internet connection when nothing was wrong with the DSL
connection. About three firmware updates later, Linksys admitted an issue
with that model and sent me another "v2" version. That latest about nine
days before exhibiting the same problems. 8-)
