Default Weak WiFi Signal

Recently I had a problem seeing my Access Point which I have been using
for ages.

Neighbouring APs were showing up but my own device in the next room was
not visible.

I changed the channel from 11 trying 7 and 4 and settled on 4 which is
now working fine.

I was under the impression that channel conflicts could cause data
transfer problems and therefore affect speed but I didn't think the
device would not show up.

Anyone else had similar.

Certainly have. Sadly it looks like it's only going to get worse.

Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright
until you hear them speak.........
