networking two MEs

I'm not able to network my two computers (both operating
ME). I called Linksys and found that pings from both
computers were recognized. But still the computers don't
recognize each other. What am I doing wrong?

How are they coonected to each other?

Did you share drives/folders?

Is there a firewall? And is it allowing one to see the other?

Are you logging on to the PC or pressing cancel at the logon screen?
