Default Setting up WEP security

Im just trying to secure my wireless with WEP, but it seems to not be
working. How many characters does a 128bit key need to be?

Thanks
David

26.

Can you not just enter a Passphrase and then click on generate to
generate the WEP key?

Is WPA available to you? If it is use that instead, much more secure than
WEP. Do a search on google for WEP cracking and you'll see what I mean.

Forget WEP, it is not secure and can be hacked easily, use WPA

What a load of bullshit.

Show me a utility that quickly and *easily* hacks WEP

Then show us all how to *easily* use it

Then I might just believe you numb skull!

The fact is, there isn't one! And you know there isn't one. So why make
claims that don't hold up?

I will repeat myself. There is no utility out there that will *easily*
crack WEP, without special hardware, and a considerable amount of knowledge.
When someone releases software that will work with any Wifi card and will
crack the key by just clicking a button and waiting for the key to appear I
will change my thoughts on the matter.

Who said there was? Nobody. WEP is easily cracked towards WPA.

Who cares what you think? WPA/2 is more secure than WEP, WEP should be
avoided if possible.

Better still use WPA-PSK if the equipment permits. If it doesn't, maybe
time to upgrade..?
