Default Access to other n/w PC's failing - gradually!

Over a period of a few hours transferring files between 2 networked PC's
(one ME and one XP) has got worse. More frequent failures 'resource not
available'. Eventually I could not browse the network from the first PC !
Also some problems from another PC (XP) saying 'file path too deep'!

I have followed Carey's detailed advice at
www.careyholzman.com/netfixes.htm. I now can see 'Entire network' and my
workgroup, but only one PC (this one!) in that group.

Is there any suggestion what else I might do with this PC (ME) and the other
2 (XP) PC's which have not been touched since they were working OK?

Thanks

Nigel

Since my last message I have rebooted the whole home network.
I can see most PC's and drives from each PC now, but the browsing is very
slow and if I try to copy a simple file between any two PC's I usually get
'resource not available' after a minute or so.
Copying from one XP to the other XP I get 'path too deep' even copying from
a first level folder on the one to the same level on the other!

I am beginning to suspect the wireless router is at fault as I am also
getting many more failed internet pages on regular sites.
The only thing I have done with the router just before the problems started
is to try to reconnect an XBox (wired) and try a few changes on the XBox and
then rebooting the router. But I haven't made any changes on the router. The
wireless signal levels remain high.

Further news.

It looks like the wireless range on my network has dropped.
I removed the encryption, as suggested by Netgear, and the response between
all PC's is back up and files move smoothly between them!
Now I have to find what has caused the signal problem so I can use
encryption again.

I guess the router signal (or reception) dropped off when I powered it down
and up.
