I am not able to connect to the internet. When I go to the control panel and
the connection and right click>status>support>repair connection I get an error message that says "Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action could not be completed: failed to query the TCP/IP settings of the connection: cannot proceed". It shows no IP, subnet mask etc listed. I have a Gateway 400 TVS notebook, Windows XP Pro, Intel (R) PRO/100 VE, Ethernet 802.3 (the device manageer says the ethernet card is working), Rangemax 240 wireless router (I have 2 oterh computerrs on the network that are working fine). I have tried unplugginf the router and plugging back in. Also, I did disconnect the cale from the router and tried plugging it directly into the computer. I thought I had a bad ethernet card but it says it is working so I am perplexed - any help would be much appreciated. Steve swoskow |
