Default Problems with Mapped Drives connected to Win 2000 Server

I am experiencing the problems described in Q278558, which
I pasted below. I am disabled and not making any money so
I can't open a ticket with Microsoft support, and they
won't give me the hotfix otherwise. Anybody have another
solution, or already have the hotfix? Please, please,
please??????

Mapped Drive Access Denied to Windows 2000-Based Server

NOTE: The update described in this article has been
superceded as noted in the following Microsoft Knowledge
Base articles:
293793 Exception 0E in Vredir Error Messages Opening
Network Files

323466 Availability of the Active Directory client
extension update for Windows 98

SYMPTOMS
You may experience any of the following problems that are
caused by authentication problems in your logon session:
When you open and then try to save a file in WordPad to a
mapped drive, you receive the following error message:

Message: drive:\ is not accessible
Access is denied.
When you open and then try to save a file in Microsoft
Word 2000 to a mapped drive, you may receive the following
error message:

Message: Word cannot save or create this file. The disk
may be full or write-protected.

Try one of more of the following:

* Free more memory.
* Make sure that the disk you want to save the file on is
not full, write-protected, or damaged.

drive:\filename
When you right-click a mapped drive in My Computer, and
then click Open, you may receive the following error
message:

Message: drive:\ is not accessible

When you type dir mapped_drive_letter at a command prompt,
you may receive the following error message:

Volume in drive mapped_drive_letter has no label
Access denied
When you type dir \\servername\mapped_share_name at a
command prompt, you may receive the following error
message:

Access denied
If you disconnect the drive share and then attempt to
reconnect, the following error message may be displayed:

Enter Network Password
You must supply a password to make this connection.
Resource: \\servername\sharename
CAUSE
The client computer sends invalid encrypted password
information to the server if the session that has been
established between them is reset more than once. A
session on the server can automatically time out, as noted
in the Microsoft Knowledge Base article that is listed in
the "Workaround" section of this article. Additionally, a
session on a Microsoft Windows 2000-based computer can be
disconnected in the user interface by right-clicking My
Computer, clicking Manage, clicking Computer Management,
clicking Shared Folders, and then clicking Sessions.

You can see a session reset that is initiated by the
server in network traces as a TCP Reset packet on port 139
(NetBios Server service). During reconnection, the client
computer sends a C Session Setup And X server message
block (SMB) for the share. The server returns
ACCESS_DENIED in an R Session Setup SMB.
RESOLUTION
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is
only intended to correct the problem that is described in

affected server and share.
Type net use \\servername\sharename at a command prompt.

Default Re: Problems with Mapped Drives connected to Win 2000 Server

The only way to obtain this hotfix is for you to contact Microsoft. There
should be no charge for this other than for any telecoms costs you incur
provided that you clearly state that you are ringing regarding KB 278558, that
you experiencing the problems mentioned in 278558 and require access to the
hotfix. Ensure though that you make no other technical request or query. If
you have a problem, but you shouldn't, ask to speak to a supervisor.
