I am a Linux newbie urgently looking for a program to do the following:
Share a DSL connection with 240 users over a WiFi network. Users needs to be authenticated and be given a certain amount of data transfer after which they need to be capped. Add-ons like billing, user accessible database with available data on their account will be a luxury. What would you suggest I run? Core? Which app will enable me to do the above mentioned? Any help would be great! Thank you adlibsol@mweb.co.za |

You should use the squid proxy server with any linux distrtibution. It has
authentication and bandwidth control. Billing and further information can be obtained from the log files. However you should use scripts to extract the information. I myself, I am not familiar with such things, but you should look at perl. Read the squid FAQs, they should be quite helpful. <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:(E-Mail Removed) ps.com... > I am a Linux newbie urgently looking for a program to do the following: > Share a DSL connection with 240 users over a WiFi network.
