networking files

I Installed several NIC cards with the sane result. I
called tech support for the cards' manufacturers and they
all said that the hardware was working but that it seems
the networking files aren't there. I bought a Dell with Me
on it and added the card. I know there are a lot of things
that can go wrong but I believe I checked them. Does
anyone know the file name for this OS so I can search/add
it to my computer?
