I have the "Microsoft Client for Networking" loaded on a
Windows ME machine, but I never get a Logon prompt at boot time. After I boot up, I can go to Start->Logoff and then, after saying I want to logoff, I get a Logon prompt. I cannot access the network until I go through the above steps of manually logging off and back in. Any ideas about why I don't get a Logon prompt when I boot? Also, when I attempt to browse the network before performing the above logoff/logon sequence, I can see the names of shares but cannot access them (until I logoff and logon again). Robert |

Using REGEDIT, open up the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\ Network\Real Mode Net and delete the value named "AutoLogon" if it exists. Reboot the system and that should do it. -- Richard G.
