Pinnacle PCTV Ethernet Adaptor

Not a wireless issue but so many smart folks here so thought I'd ask.

This Ethernet adaptor was installed with a USB TV tuner. I am just curious
as to what it is / does? How does it relate to "Ethernet"? Google has not
helped?
