Hi,
I have a weird situation. Two machines are SONY laptop running WindowsME and a SONY desktop running WindowsXP. They are networked through a router, which is connected to the cable modem. Yesterday, the ME laptop's internet explorer became unstable. It couldn't access websites but could access the e-mail server. I was able to access the laptop's file system from the XP desktop. Then, after doing 'windows update' and applying some of the available patches, the ME laptop completely lost internet connection - no website or e-mail access at all. No longer can the XP desktop access the ME laptop's file system, although the 3 laptop drives do show up in the XP's network neighborhood. Thank you much if you can help. Yvonne YT |

Hi Carey,
Thank you very much for referring me to your site. (It took a while to get to this issue.) I followed the tips, specifically #1, 3 and 4. ME laptop was still dead to internet connection. When looking into System Properties - Device Manager, the Intel(R) pro/100 VE network connection has a yellow exclamation mark on it. I don't think it's a driver update issue because ME's internet connection worked for 2.5 years. Do you think I need a new laptop network card? Thanks, yt ================================================== ===== "YT" <anne-(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:%(E-Mail Removed)... > Hi, > > I have a weird situation. After removing the device, reboot, re-install device, network connection is
now o.k. yt "YT" <anne-(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:(E-Mail Removed)... > Hi Carey, > > Thank you very much for referring me to your site. (It took a while to get > to this issue.) I recommend reinstalling the driver - if the problem persists, it still may
be a configuration issue but it might be faster (and cheaper in the long run) to replace it if this is the case.
