I currently have a 2003 AD network wih one Exchange 2003 server located at
my main office located on subnet 1. We are opening up a new location and i want to try to get a head start on the servers if i can. The new location will be subnet B and will be a part of my current AD domain. It will be connected to my main location via PTP T1. End result is that they will have their own Exchange server/domain/dns server handling email for the new smtp domain for the new location. My question, can i install/configure the new domain controller/Exchange server on subnet 1 using subnet ip infomation then move the server to subnet 2 without causing any problems in AD/DNS/Exchange? |

Yes you can. All mentioned services (AD, Exchange, ...) can handle a change
of IP address without any problems. I have done it quite a few times for some of my customers. My only advice would be to change to end IP addresses before you shutdown the servers and move them to another network. -- Mike Microsoft MVP - Windows Security <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:(E-Mail Removed)... >I currently have a 2003 AD network wih one Exchange 2003 server located at >my main office located on subnet 1.
