Plusnet just moved me over to maxdsl after months of waiting. Hoorah!
Router stats show approx 2.5mb down and 440kbs up. This is no more than I expected as I am quite far from the exchange. speed test shows Downstream 1,841.7 Kbps ( = 1.8 Mbps ) Upstream 372.0 Kbps ( = 0.4 Mbps ) I am aware that the speed is going to go up and down over the next 10 days and will hopefully settle. Any tips for keeping the connection stable? Friend says to disconnect and reconnect once a day for 3 days. Anything else I should do? What about downloading? Should I download some stuff to help it on its way? -- Beck www.spritesandbites.net Beck |

You're on a 2Mbps IP profile according to this: http://www.adslguide.org.uk/newsarchive.asp?item=2622 So your speed is consistent with a 2Mbps profile (minus a little for overheads). |

If 2Mbps is around the maximum then you would have been better with an ISP offering that speed for a lower price. You can get that sort of speed for £14-99 per month. It pays to shop around. |

I am very happy with my isp and the speed, its actually more than expected. I am 6km from the exchange so did not expect much. Beck |
