Default help - NTL and Netgear wireless router.

hello all.

I need your help.
I work on a Mac with NTL cable broadband.
I have recently fitted an Airport Card and purchased a Netgear wireless
cable router.

For a day it worked perfectly, i just plugged it in and the card found
the network and off it went,
However when i turned all my plugs off overnight and rebooted the next
day its all gone to pot.

I know my airport card works because it can see other networks, i know
my modem works if i connect directly via ethernet so it must be the
router. I logged onto the config via a browser (192.168 etc) and it
keeps asking me for the isp username and password, when i entered them
its goes away and thinks about it and prompts me again..

I've tried setting it back to factory default with no avail.. how come
it worked perfectly without a password first time round and now it
doesnt....

Can anyone help..

ta
Jules

Try turning all off again,
reboot NTL supplied cable modem FIRST (let it do its thing for a couple of
minutes)
THEN turn on the netgear router after the NTL modem is settled.

reasoning - the netgear needs to see the functioning NTL modem in order to
provide proxy/NAT... if its not up & running it will assume incorrect gateway
status.

Hope that works for ya

Cable BB doesn't use a login, Netgears usually have the option to disable
the ISP login, it's on the Basic Settings page on my Netgear FVS318.
