Default Networking ME to an XP machine

I am trying to network my ME laptop to my XP desktop
computer. Both computers are connected to a Linksys
Etherfast Cable/DSL router. Both computers are able to
independently surf the Internet so I know that connection
is good. However, I would like the laptop to be able to
print to my HP laser printer that is connected to the XP
machine. File sharing between the ME and XP machines is
NOT a priority, but the printer IS. Any suggestions?

Thanks, in advance, for any suggestions you can
contribute. Steve

Run XP's Network Setup Wizard on both computers, and tell it that they
connect to the Internet through a "residential gateway". It will make
all the network settings and share the laser printer. Start here:

I had the same problem and tried everything to get it
working. I finally looked at tll the components that are
listed on the network info and voilla! I had to extract
NETBEUI off of the CD, MS no longer supports this
protocol, I put in on the XP machines and everything works
dandy.

Good Luck
