I have 7 pc's (win me and win 98 se) connected by a simple network for sharing files and printers based on the netbeui protocol, i have now changed it to run file and printer sharing binded to TCP/I
To use TCP/IP for file and printer sharing, I unbinded netbeui from file and printer sharing and binded TCP/IP to it, but the following happens. Hope you can help All pc's work fine, but an hp pavilion desktop running on win me never displays the "client for microsoft networks" logon bo instead it displays the standard windows logon box on startup, even when the client for microsoft networks is the primary logon option. All protocols and services are installed and binded correctly When i open my network places on the hp pavilion I can see all shared folders in other computers, but i can only access the few folders that are not password protected and use the printers, which are not password protected either. The other computers have no problem accessing any of the other computers, including the problematic HP pavilion. I wonder if you know what i can do to make the HP pavilion display the "client for microsoft networks" dialog and login normally Thanks in advanc =?Utf-8?B?U2VyZ2lvIEZsb3Jlcw==?= |

Using REGEDIT, open up the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\ Network\Real Mode Net and delete the value named "AutoLogon" if it exists, then restart the system. -- Richard G. Hell
I have deleted the "autologon" registry key, but it still doesn't work righ I think i have a problem with the network adapter, when i open the network applet on the control panel and ask for the properties for my network adapter i can't select any of the "controller type" tab options (NDIS or ODI) wonder if that has to do with the problem |

I'm not sure I'm seeing what you're seeing. Are you talking about the
network protocols and bindings listed in Network Properties or something else? I don't have any such "tabs" on my Network Properties display. -- Richard G. In network properties of the control panel. Click on properties button but not on the protocol or the service, but on the adapter itself to see the " controller type" tab and the ndis/odi options
