I have a router that uses DHCP to assign IP's. I set my
ME box to obtain IP automatically, but always get a 169.254.144.33 address assigned when the router is supposed to assign 10..... IP's. At one point I had tryed to set up a hub, and had used the Home Networking Wizard. Is there something that could be overridding my new settings for DHCP? Joe |

If a PC gets a 169.xxx.xxx.xxx address that means that it is not seeing the
DHCP Server and is assigning itself a private address. This could be a bad network card, a bad network cable, or incorrect network settings. -- Richard G. If you manually set up the IP settings can you ping the router that is
supposed to provide DHCP addresses? Often this problem is a bad network cable, NIC or hub. -- Thanks, Marc Reynolds Microsoft Technical Support This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
