I have a small network with Server 2003 and XP Pro machines. On all but one
workstate, I can start and run the Computer Browser service with no problems. On one workstation, when I start the service it starts and immediately stops. There is no error message in the event log. What might be the cause of this problem. Thanks. anotherron |

Thanks for the suggestions. Both are running properly so I do not think that
this is the problem. Do you have any other areas in which I can look? Have you checked the event viewer to see if there are
any related errors. You could manually prevent the computer browser service from starting by editing a registry setting called MaintainServerList but you should see an error in the system log of the event viewer.
