Here's my enquiry I sent to SonicWall (out of support now though):
----- I have SonicWall Global VPN Client (2.2.0.131). I can successfully connect the SonicWall VPN connection. The VPN connection works over my Vodafone 3G wireless datacard. This connects once I login to Windows automatically. However, I would like to connect my machine to the Small Business Server. When logged in, it successfully joins to the domain. It then prompts me to restart the machine. On the next login, I can choose to login to the domain. However, as it’s not at that point connected to the internet or VPN, so I have to select the “Dial-up tick-box. However, I can only choose to select my Vodafone 3G connection (which connects fine) (as this is the only connection in the list of connections in IE > Tools > Internet Options > Connections), but of course, my VPN connection isn’t available so login fails. If I was able to connect to the VPN using Windows VPN Client then this would be in the list (why don’t SonicWalls work just with the standard Windows VPN Clients?). I was therefore hoping an updated version of SonicWall VPN Client does indeed allow this. Could you please tell me if this is possible, and if so, where I can get an updated version from? ----- Any help much appreciated. -- Ben Weeks Business & IT Consultant www.webtechy.co.uk T: 08707609367 F: 08701315220 Ben Weeks |
