changing the network subnet

hi everybody,
I want to increase the subnet I have in my office without changing the ips
of the network devices, so I first changed the router subnet to include the
new subnet , then I begin changing the subnet and gateway of the DCs ( I
have two dcs on my office) after changing the subnet and restarting both
servers , I got a lot of errors that the dcs can't communicate with each
other.
after switching back to the old configuration, everything seems to be
working fine.
any clue??

Only some subnet values are valid and they depend on the IP space being
used. In theory I believe all you would need to do is change the subnet on
the DHCP server, and reboot all computer connected to it. It's not clear to
me why you are changing the default gateway address, this should remain the
same. Are your computers using DHCP or are they using static addressing?
