I recently noticed on Ebay a device made by Surecom, the EP3501 Internet Mini-gateway for dialup modem, and was interested to know if anyone had tried this unit on a wifi lan, and if there were any drwabacks - eg security wize. It appears the client pcs may need to have drivers installed to use it. At the $10 asking price (no bids received) it looked a pretty cheap way to go - if its any good. I'm currently using a 3com888 with excellent (for dialup:-) results. The 3coms are pretty hard to come by in Oz, and I wondered if this unit would be any good for the Bro-in-laws kids to share the net. Comments on the product? Cheers Rob me here |
