When I connect to my 2003 server via VPN, It connectes and then I get an ip
address of 216.153.142.xx (should be in the 192.168.222.xxx range) This tells me that my VPN server doesn't have DHCP to assign IP .. (it looks like I am getting DHCP from my ISP instead of my DHCP server) OK.. So how do I fix that..?? My DHCP seems to work fine for clients on the LAN side.. All was working fine when I first installed the OS on a cable modem system, but then moved it to a static DSL modem and have to reconfigure all my network settings. Got it all working again except for this VPN ip problem.. Guess I missed one small setting somewhere. FYI - My ISP assigned me a static IP address but it also seems to have DHCP too .. Hence the 216.153.xxx.xxx range when I set my network card to automatic. We have many issues with this settings.
1. Do you have two DHCP in your network? It is better to use your DHCP. 2. The DNS should be your DNS server IP instead of 127.0.0.1. 3. Do you have NAT enabled? 4. it seems to me the VPN can't get IP from DHCP, so that the PPP IP is 16.9.254.x.x..
