Default WINS: static record owner

Hi,

We have a large number of WINS servers all configured with one
push/pull partner (central hub). These servers are mixed Windows 2000 &
2003. I'm in the midst of decommissioning the Windows 2000 servers.

Some of these servers hold static mappings which have been replicated
to the other WINS servers.
Do I need to transfer ownership of these records to another server (the
hub server preferably)?
How do I do this? Delete and recreate?
What are the consequences if I don't do this?

One server has failed recently and the static records it held still
float around but I'm not sure if or how they will ever be removed other
than by manually deleting them.

Can anyone recommend a process.
thanks
Sheldon

Static entries aren't recommended generally. Do you know
why there are there in the first place? I wouldn't suspect
no problems if you don't remove but, you want to remove
them, you'll have to open each database and remove them
manually by deleting them.
