Default Access Folder Redirection via Domain Name

I find Folder Redirection to work fine when the GPO uses a UNC path of
\\computername\Redirected Folder.

But when I use a UNC path of \\DomainName\Redirected Folder, I find that the
client doesn't see any changes in the folder unless a refresh is performed.

For example: If I use Windows Explorer to add a document to "My Documents",
it will immediately be placed in the redirected folder regardless if I use
computername or DomainName (which is good).

When using computername, the client will see this change in Windows Explorer
also (again this is good).

But when using DomainName, Windows Explorer will not display the newly added
file (even though it actually is there). If the user refreshes the Windows
Explorer view, it will then display.

Any idea what is causing this? Could it be something to do with my DNS?

Thanks!

Hi Bob,

Check following article:

823291 File list in the Windows Explorer folder is not refreshed after you
create, move, or delete files
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;EN-US;823291

I suspect you are using DFS for redirected folders, so this article may
helps.

Thanks.
