I keep getting the following error in the eventlog of a Windows 2003 Standard
Server when I try to start theSNMP service: Faulting application snmp.exe, version 5.2.3790.1830, faulting module kernel32.dll, version 5.2.3790.1830, fault address 0x00015dea. I tried to remove and reinstall the service, nothing, I tried to reinstall SP1 no changes, what is causing this problem? the server is: A Dell PowerEdge 1800 BIOS-versie A05 BIOS-datum 09-21-05 Windows-versie Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server 2003, Standard Edition Hardware: Dvd/cd-rom-stations HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8164B Disksstations DELL Array SCSI Disk Device 446.9GB VideoCards RADEON 7000 Series 16MB Diskettestations (Standard floppy disk drives) Floppy disk drive IDE ATA/ATAPI-controllers Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers Primary IDE Channel Intel(R) 82801EB Ultra ATA Storage Controllers Primary IDE Channel Secondary IDE Channel Keyboard USB Human Interface Device Mouse USB Human Interface Device Monitor Default Monitor - (Standard monitor types) USB-controllers Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D2 Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D4 Intel(R) 82801EB USB Universal Host Controller - 24D7 Intel(R) 82801EB USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 24DD Adapters Intel(R) PRO/1000 MT Network Connection Processor: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.80GHz Klokseed 2.8GHz L2-cachesize 2048 -- Regards Erik W Erik W |

Hey Erik,
Have you tried uninstalling it through Add/Remove Components then re-installing it off the CD? yes I did the uninstall and than reinstall it from CD, that was the first

I solved the problem. Thw WMI SNMP provider was interfering. I removed this
