Default My Network Places Mystery

when navigating to my network places using any computer on the domain,
clients from one particular building are not listed. At one point they were
listed, but I'm not sure what happended or how to resolve the issue. DC's
are win 2003 server and pretty much all clients are winxp.

Any help would certainly be appreciated.

There are many reasons one particular building does not show
up in the browse list but without more information it would be
difficult to advise. The most common cause of this particular
issue is having a multihomed master browser acting as a router
between subnets or communication issues between the master
browser in that particular building or subnet and the DMB or
domain master browser. It would be best to describe your
network in detail including subnettting, and method of name
resolution. In general NetBIOS broadcasts cannot be blocked
by any of your routers, assuming you have routers?

I do have two servers in this particular building that were both using a
multihomed configuration. one nic was connected to a faculty vlan and the
other nic was connected to a student vlan on both servers for this building.
Our IT dept, disabled the data ports on both servers that were connected to
the student vlan.
If this is the case, is there a solution?

Yes, there are a few solutions but I'll need moe details.
How many domains? Are either of the multihomed machines
DCs? Now disable the NICs that are connected to the disabled
data ports and wait about 51 minutes and see if your issue clears up.

Two domains. Both machines are member servers.

Thanks

Have you disabled the second NIC? What was the
result?
