Authenticating after connecting through VPN

We have remote users connecting to our network. After they establish the
connection through the VPN tunnel, it takes the user about 30-40 seconds to
authenticate to the network and start using resources on the network. If
anyone can give me a hand I would greatly appreciate it.

Possibly either a DNS issue or a VPN client issue. Can you elaborate on what
VPN client side software being used, VPN device, and whether the internal
DNS servers are being configured as part of the IP acquisition process for
the client?

Remember: Accessing AD resources is based on DNS, specifically the internal
DNS.

Also, if there are numerous GPOs or software installation, GPO folder
redirection, roaming profiles, etc etc etc, all have a factor.

Can you elaborate on that as well?
