Default Credentials for DDNS registration

Hello,

I have a computer not a member of a domain. It is firewall that uses static
IPs for its internal interfaces (running W2k3). Is there a way to provide
user name and password for the local DHCP Client (as it is who registers the
NICs in DNS) to register the adapter IPs in our AD integrated DNS?

O.

Secure DNS updates are authenticated by Kerberos. If the macihne is joined
to the domain and it ONLY uses the internal DNS in it's IP properties, and
the Primary DNS Suffix is set to the zone name in that DNS server, then
registration should just work.

If the machine is not joined, or is not Win2000 or newer, and you are using
Secure Updates Only, then it will not work.

You can turn off Secure, but I wouldn't. I would just manually create a
static entry for the host name in the zone.
