I have a 2k3 network with 4 computers.I go to my router page and have
port 1723 as shown below: Pinhole Name VPN-1 Protocol Select TCP External Port Start 1723 External Port End 1723 Internal IP Address 70.246.3.201 Internal Port 1723 But when I go to canyouseeme.org , it says the port is blocked. I can have a vpn connection from the computers behind the router, but remote computers get Error 678. I would really appreciate any input on this. john |

If Internal IP Address is 70.246.3.201, what's your WAN IP? Or post the result of ipconfig /all here.

John there is mistake over here. In the router you'll have to configure the
port forwarding to the internal ip which is 192.168.1.110 not the wan IP. So when you tried to make a VPN connection from outside the wan ip will look at the packet and then forward it to the correct port and then router will look where it has to forward those packet to and find out it has to be send to the internal server address which is 192.168.1.110. Hope this will solve your problem. So when you configure port numbers always remember to open them to the internal IP address not for the wan IP.
