I just ran into this myself two days ago. Is the server running SP1?
Install the Remote Desktop client from the ~\system32\tsclient directory on the server itself - you're seeing version incompatibility of the RDP client software. You'll wind up with 2 copies of the mstsc.exe file on your workstation - be sure to use the one that has a Security tab when you click on "Options". HTH -- Laura E.
