default gateway

When I am dialed into an external server, via a network
connection, I am unable to access my own network. The
ipconfig on my machine shows my modem as the default
gateway (0 ethernet adapter) and my network as secondary
(1 ethernet adapter). How do I switch these so that my
network is the primary gateway?
