Hi, I installed the networking 1.4 upgrade for Windows98 (normal edition). After this upgrade my normal TCP connection to other computers either locally or on the internet (through my router) does not work anymore. There is no error message other then can not reach home when I try from Internet Explorer. Other programs like ftp or telnet don't work neither. I have a fixed IP address on this computer, fixed DNS server. I tried to fix the problem in the following ways without success: - Deinstall the upgrade - Reinstall the upgrade a second time - Reinstall Windows 98 from the CD ROM - Delete Dial up networking with the Add/Remove Programs and reinstall. - Looked through the registry if there is anything odd in there. I think I use a standard version of the TCP libraries including winsock. I am very close to restart from scratch. Any of your expert help is welcome. Jorg |
