I have a Dell Pentium III that I recently upgraded to
Windows Me from Windows 98. I installed a Linksys
wireless G PCI adapter which I got working ok. Then I
uninstalled Norton SystemWorks 2.0 from my system because
it isn't compatable with Windows Me. OOps! I uninstalled
with Windows' ADD/Remove but it did not do a complete
uninstall. I used Norton's Web site to get easy to follow
instructions on manually removing Registry and other
files. Everyting to seemed to go well until I rebooted
and Windows gives the message "unable to load
ProcNICs9x.dll". This .dll file belongs to Linksys.
Linksys says they can't help and that Microsoft would
have to instruct me to modify settings or files. I
already uninstalled and reinstalled the card and Linksys
software, but it did not help. Any help would be deeply
appreciated.

I am having a similar problem. I have installed the Linksys G Card
and then I needed to reinstall it. I went through the proper ways to
uninstall. Control panal then adremove programs. It claims it
unistalled the card. I then run the install program and it says it
can not install it is already installed. I talked to linksys support
and they say they need Microsoft's premission to edit the registry.
This crap if you ask me. Linksys put these entries and files on the
computer and their install program looks for them...so they know where
they put them and they should say how to delete them. Right know I am
stuck. I emailed their (E-Mail Removed) and I received an email
that asks me to explain again the problem I explained in the previous
email.

If you find out the registry entries and files that are to be deleted
let me know. I bet there is a switch on the install program that
forces the install to work.
