DUN will not save PASSWORD

Despite repeated attempts, I cannot get Windows Dialup
Networking to save my logon password (running Win ME) so
as to be able to connect automatically. I've tried
configuring in Control Panel as well, but it blanks out
the password immediately after exiting & re-entering the
configuration dialog. Any help appreciated!
