Multihoming and ME

Has anyone successfully connected an Outlook client to an
email server in a dual nic, multihomed Windows ME box?
Outlook complains about not finding a mailbox. The user
is configured and has sufficient rights on the server.
Also, the nics are using different (DHCP) IPs, same
subnet. One connects to a MS 2K box, the other nic to a
netware server. Thx
