losing connectivity with dlink router

Maybe someone could offer a suggestion. I have been
using a dlink router DI-614+ for few years with no problems.

Recently purchased a DI-524 where I lose connectivity
at lease once a day. Switching off and back on re-establishes
the connection. I connected the DI-614 back which fixes the
problem but I like the 'G' when using my wireless laptops.

I used the default setting on installation and wonder if there are
settings I should check. I am green on what many stand for so
any help would be appreciated.
