I just got a secondhand computer with Win 98 on it. On startup a dialog box
pops-up asking for a login and password. I can just hit cancel and it starts fine, but until I hit cancel nothing starts at all. It's just an annoyance, but how do I get rid of that dialog box? =?Utf-8?B?ZG9jYm95MjA5?= |

Hi, go to microsoft window 98 support web site and check out 'tweak UI' (or just google it). It wont stop the box, but auto-complete and login all-in-one. |

Since you posted this to a networking newsgroup someone should tell you that bypassing login, using cancel, .reg hacks or TweakUI, can and often does foul up networking on a Win98 computer. Your not just logging into the computer, your logging on to the network. It works sporadically and fails eventually, forcing a reboot. |

I think there is a simple solution to it, i had it ages ago, just ticking a box somewhere like "this computer requires me to login" Try googling groups on suitable words. |
