I am using Win Xp Pro Sp2 on two of machines. They both are connected to a
broadband connection via a wireless router. To be able to access one machine from the other, I ran Windows Network Wizard on both machines and setup a "Shared" Folder to be accessed by everyone on each machine, one of the machines is named Xyz. Now when I try to access Xyz machine from the other and I try to add a Network place with the address "\\xyz\Shared" I get the error : "Xyz not accessible, you may not have the access rights... The use is not granted requested logon type on this machine" Interestingly, in the past I had the machines configured properly, then I did fresh OS installation on both and now I do not even remember, how to make it work again. Kindly help, as to how to proceed from here. Tia Matt Anonymous |

Check you can ping the other computer so that the physical connection is
proven. Make sure that the person logged into computer A has a logon with appropriate rights on Computer B. Somewhere in W2000 there is a setting that says, allow disk and printer sharing, this needs to be ON. I assume the setting is in WinXP as well. Then right click on the disk icon-properties-security and set the disk as shared. That should do it. the_gnome "Anonymous" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:(E-Mail Removed)... > I am using Win Xp Pro Sp2 on two of machines. Are you running Zone Alarm? You have to config it if you are.
