Hi, I am having trouble connecting to the Google Earth Server. I get
the message that a firewall is the problem. I have disabled the XP Firewall so I am assuming the problem is with the router's firewall. I received it with my ADSL service from Telus (BC Canada). I called D-Link support and they had me enable virtual server http for Port 80 but it didn't work. The Google help page says "Most likely, a personal firewall program, aggressive antivirus software, or adware is preventing Google Earth from freely accessing the internet via TCP/IP (port 80). Please check your router/firewall settings to set GoogleEarth.exe as an exception." I disabled F-Prot and turned off the XP adware program. I tried to add GooglEarth.exe under Applications in the Router config but I don't know what to put for Public Port. I actually don't know what I am doing at all. Please help! Thanks!!! alix |

First, run Disk Cleanup. Your temp internet files might be full and you cannot download jpg images. Secondly, GE is beta, and obviously their servers are incapable of handling the demand since that is what they post when I try to download the application interface. This might not be a real issue at all next week. Q |

Do you have the proper "license key"? Some ISP block port 80 inbound to you. -- Travis in Shoreline Washington |

Thank you. It works now! I changed a few things - the main one being
my virus scanner. I also re-entered the info into my router re port 80. GoogleEarth is an amazing program!!! |
