All users behind a NAT router should use the ISP provided DNS servers unless the Router has
a DNS server itself.

Default Re: DNS Question

Some routers have internal forwarding so when they receive a DNS request,
they forward it to your ISP. This helps (in a DSL environment for example),
when the internet connection drops out, and you retrieve a new IP address,
any possible DNS changes are instant (internally in the router), rather than
the PC's having to renew their own DHCP values to update the DNS servers
internally. Some of the more expensive routers with the internal DNS
forwarders also cache the DNS information to make it faster.
