I configured a Windows 98 sp2 station to access a Windows 2000 server which is located in a different subnet. I had configure the lmhost in Win98 machine to point to Win2000 server. When double-click the server icon in Network Neighborhood, it prompts for an password which i cannot access. Pls advice! |

Did you add the Windows 98 user name (and password, if any) to the Users tool in the Control Panel on the Windows 2000 server? -- Richard G. It doesn't allow me to enter the username, username column is fix, there's only password field for me to enter. "Richard G. Read what I posted a bit more closely. On the Windows 2000 machine, go to the Users tool in the Control Panel. Create a new user, on the Windows 2000 machine, using the user name (and password, if any) that you use to start up the Windows 98 machine. -- Richard G.
