I've a printer switch here with default IP 192.168.123.254. I want to
configure it to 192.168.0.254. I add a route: route add -host 192.168.123.254 eth0 and I can ping to 192.168.123.254. But I can't male a http-connection, a htt://192.168.123.254 fails. Why? The only way to access the printer switch was to change the IP of my eth0 NIC to 192.168.123.52. Then I was able to configure the printer switch to 192.168.0.254. thx Ekkard Ekkard Gerlach |

Your description of the problem is useless. What does "I can't make a http connection" mean? Does it mean you send out SYN packets but get no reply? Does it mean you get back RSTs (connection refused)? Or what? DS |
