Server:
Suse 9.1 Samba 3.0.9-2.6 i586 Clients: Win XP SP2 + sämtl. Patches My server and clients are running 24h/7d. Normaly no problem. But sometimes when i work first time a day i cannot print over my Linux Cups server or i cannot use my CD-Image. So i have to restart the CUPS server or reconnect the CD-Image. I have 2 Server. The first is only for data the second only for printing. The second is installed realy new with SuSe Linux 9.2 and i use only Samba so i can connect to it with //printserver:631/printers/deskjet970c on my Win XP client. Any Hints? Juerg Schwarz |

What does /var/log/messages tell you? What does 'CD-Image' mean? Are you exporting your CD-drive via SMB or are you using a CD-image via loopback-mechanisms? > Any Hints? /var/log/messages (or the appropriate log-file of your samba server) can answer that. It would be helpful to post it here the next time the error occurs. HTH, Mathias |
