You're right, these are basic questions. If you're in a hurry to get
this running, buy yourself a router to do the job. It will be quick and
painless.

If you want to set it up yourself, I reccomend that you go to tldp.org
click on "Guides", and find "The Linux Network Administrator's Guide,
Second Edition". That will answer all of your questions.
