Hello,
We have a LAN , most clients are windows 98se , few are win 95 and the server is NT. We do have clients on other site lans which by routers are interconnected. Is there a small freeware non heavy utilitie we can install in all Clients so that we can broadcast a message on screen to all the clients when needed ? For example, when we have to shut down a server application and we need to alert all client users. We would like to send to all clients an on screen message saying for example: For maintenance reasons the server will be shut down in xx minutes, please close all your applications. Please let me know what is the best solution. Thanks, Mario Mario |

All versions of Windows below Windows 2000 ship with a utility called WinPopup, which allows Windows 2000, NT and XP systems to use the NET SEND command to send messages to them. If it's not installed on your system, use Add/Remove Programs, Windows Setup tab to install it. -- Richard G.
