host A can rcp file to host B by root a/c rcp abc.txt root@hostB:/tmp --> it is Ok but can't rcp file to host B by other user rcp abc.txt user@hostB:/tmp , Permission denied. I have updated the hostB ~user/.rhosts #vi ~user/.rhosts + + hostB user but still not work , could suggest what is the problem ? but very strange , the user can rlogin from hostA to hostB , but can't rcp , could suggest what is wrong ? thx Andy |

Have you checked that user in hostB can write to /tmp directory.
(You should check this directly on hostB without connecting from hostA.) Why in the world would you want to give everyone in teh world the permission to log onto your machine without a password. Even if your machine is not now on the net, it probably will be sometime. Also, use scp, not rcp. rcp is outdated and highly insecure. ]I think that should be "hostA user", and the .rhosts file should have ]600 permission. ]-- ]System Events ]=-=-=-=-=-=-= ]Sep 16 03:31:11 don kernel: lp0 on fire |
